Mohammad Seyyedi
   (Daf & Tonbak player)
Mohammadhossein commenced the rudimentary learning steps of Persian percussion instruments since 1995. Firstly he took Tonbak lessons under the guidance of Maestro Dariush Eshaghi one of the most established, and influential Tonbak players in Iran, who has written many method books for the Tonbak. Then he continued learning more techniques with Ahmad Mostanbet, one of the talented students of Daryoush Eshaghy and Bahman Rajabi since 1998. After acquiring 5 years of experience under the supervision of the two distinctive maestros, he pursued his musical passion with gaining more techniques and methods of performance in Tonbak with another percussionist maestro Arash Sharghi. Through the ages of learning with Arash Sharghi he familiarized with another percussion instrument, frame drum, name as DAF. He began playing Daf since 2004 and, soon afterwards, he participated in several performances as a group player and then solo and duet player. Also, he had collaboration with other distinctive Maestros and bands such as Mohammad Rahim Khushnawaz (an Old and famous RABAB Player of Afghanistan), KASRA Ensemble in Iran and has held some performances in Canada.
Also, he is doing the master level of his study in field of Construction & Project management beside his musical activities at University of British Columbia (UBC) and has intensive cooperation with UBC’s Persian Music Ensemble either as a Tonbak or Daf player.
