Behnam Razavi

Behnam Razavi started preliminary steps of Persian percussion instrument, Tombak, in 1994 under the guidance of Maestro Mahmood Farahmand Bafi, who has worked with many well known Persian musical assembly. After relocating to Vancouver, Canada in 1999, he continued his learning under supervision of Ramin Bahrami, one of the talented students of Mahmood Farahmand for about two years. Behnam has collaborated with few groups of traditional music assemblies and has participated in some musical performances. In 2011, he was introduced to the University of British Columbia (UBC) Persian Music Ensemble by Amir Abbas Aliabadi and joined the ensemble. Since 2007, Behnam has been a graduate student at UBC and currently he is into his 3rd year of PhD program in the department of Mechanical Engineering. |
