Baharak Rastegari
   (Setar and Flute player)
Baharak started taking music lessons at the age of 12. She played the flute for about 4 years under the guidance of Mr. Sinaki. Her sudden outburst of passion for Persian Classical Music resulted in her starting to study the setar at the age of 18 under the guidance of Mr. Mohammad Reza Ebrahimi.
After moving to Canada for graduate studies, she continued taking setar lessons for another couple of years under the guidance of Mr. Hossein Behroozinia. While continuing on playing the setar, she started taking flute lessons again since 2007 under the guidance of Ms. Jennifer Butler. Baharak is a Ph.D student in the department of Computer Science, UBC. She holds a M.Sc. in computer science from UBC and a B.Sc. in computer engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Iran.
