Amir Abbas Aliabadi's musical passion started at the age of eight. He started by playing the piano with Maestro Alireza Mehrbakhsh with exposure to Classical and Persian traditional music. He later continued his passion in Persian traditional music with Vocal lessons under the training of Maestro Mehdi Fallah. Amir Abbas later discovered the ubiquitous popularity of the guitar and trained himself with the Flamenco style.
Immigration to Canada opened a new world of opportunities for him in western music. Amir Abbas studied Flamenco and Classical guitar with Nicolas Hernandez and Maestro Bagher Moazen in Toronto. A passion for Flamenco inspired him for a trip to Spain where he continued his guitar studies in Spain with Maestro Pascual de Lorca. His quest for various musical styles has persuaded him to play Tango, Samba, Jazz, Gypsy, and Blues music as well. While living in Toronto, he played the guitar with numerous ensembles including the Canadian Royal Conservatory of Music, The Beginning, and Zerobam. Amir Abbas studied music theory at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto as well. A recent trip to Iran, revived his deep roots to his culture, and he started receiving intensive training in Barbat with Behnam Moayyerian. Amir Abbas has also studied Persian Music Radif with Babak Baghai. |
